These tesserae are from a larger series created in 2003, inspired by arabesque wall tiles and stained glass windows. The series explores the relationship between the part and the whole, the individual and the universe. Using a variety of media – including collage, cut-outs, photography and drawing – these images play with fragmenting the world of appearances, and then reassembling it in an altered way so as to extend, deepen and widen its context.
